def leppard

in honor of def leppard being on dancing with the stars last night, i thought I would post a few pictures from their concert that we went to almost 2 years ago. It was a great night. we were late to the concert. It was at Usana and we took the long way there and only got to hear two of journey's songs. I was about 8 or 9 weeks pregnant with Olivia and I got sick halfway through the concert. It was a fun night. Eric, Alan and Steve were so excited to go to the concert it was like they were rebelious teenagers!! I felt like I went to the concert 20 years too late. Considering I loved them while I attended Indian Hills Middle School, I am pretty sure that I was 20 years too late but I have to say that it was worth it!

I also want to say that I am so excited for Neil Diamond on American Idol tonight. I have to say that I am a huge fan. I went to his concert about 10 years ago now. It was awesome. We were totally rocking with the people in the wheel chairs!! It was so fun. And full of old people!! He is also on the Today show this friday. Seriously, can life get any better?

sick kiddos

These were taken at the dr's office while we were waiting. as you can see savannah did NOT want to be there!!

lately, it seems like we have been sick, sick, and sick again. we are normally not sicky people but this year it has been bad. last week, we went to the doctors twice. Once for olivia and once for savannah. olivia had two ear infections. i think i knew that before i took her in. you can always tell when they wake up at 3 am screaming. savannah ran a fever for 3 days. she even went to bed one night at 6:30 pm. so we took her in on friday. she was negative on everything. strep, ears, bladder. we were happy for that. it was just a virus that had to run its course. she was almost back to her usually cheerful and stubborn self by saturday.

the pancake princess

Savannah loves pancakes (or pandcakes as she calls them)!!! She could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner and that meal in between. She loves them. It is funny to see her get so excited for them. So I thought I would post Savannah and her favorite meal! I had a picture of her smiling but you could see a little chewed up pancake so you get the one without a smile.

new cell phone

out with the old and in with the new. completely! today I got my new cell phone. you are thinking, big deal who cares. well I care. I also got a new number. look for your emails. i am sending the new number out. it is the second email. i sent out kris's number first. yes, I am that smart. I know you are thinking you don't need a new number. wrong!! let me tell you the history of my cell phone. I have pretty much had a work cell phone for years. (like 15). I got one number that ends in 97 and it was great. my whole family have similar numbers. it is great so we just have to know the last 2 or 3 digits and we can call anyone. we don't have to remember anyone's number. well, about 2 years ago the Salt Lake County jail got a new phone number for their inmates family to call and leave money on a credit card to call home. it was the 800 version of my phone number. people being the smart people that they are would call me and do one of two things: argue with me that they dialed the right number and how dare I tell them they have the wrong number or apologize and say that sucks. well, i got all kinds of phone calls. a few call looking for drugs, angry lovers, it goes on and on. so I got a new number. unfortunately, no one in my family can remember it. myself included. so that is why i have yet another new number. i also got a new phone that will make texting easier. so long big ugly nextel phone. seriously, i am the only one of my sisters that still had the original phone from 3 years ago. it was big and indestructable. trust me, i tried. i think i even ran it over once. so new phone and new number. it is great!

it's snowing.

as I write this it is snowing. i am ready for spring. go away snow. you are no longer welcome here.

ants in my car....

yep, it's true. i have ants in my car. we have always had ants in our garage. we take care of them and then they come right back. it is not as bad as it once was but they are here and we don't love them. i was on my way to pick up lexi for school and i looked down and there were ants all over my front seat. earlier, i had taken a small ziploc bag of circus animal cookies from the back seat to the front seat. i started throwing ants out the window. i picked of the bag of cookies and it was filled with ants. okay, this is the part I am not so proud of, i threw the bag and the cookies out the window. i know, littering it bad, but really what would you do? ants in bag in car or out the window. i really had no choice. i got to kris's house and started trying to de-ant my car. i got most of them out but really i don't think they are out. the sad thing is that my car is usually really yucky. i am the worst about a clean car. anyway, i cleaned out my car on saturday and vaccuumed the entire car. there was nothing to eat in my entire car except for this bag of cookies that i had given savannah and lexi when we went to the store yesterday. i think the worst part of it all is that i know feel like i have ants crawling all over me. yuck! I hate ants!!

bad dream

last night i had a bad dream. it wasn't scary but i was glad it was just a dream. i was dreaming that i was back in college and that i was running for president of my sorority. okay, many of you know that i was in a sorority in college and was president. so you are thinking why is that such a bad thing. the thing is that i am so happy those days are over. i couldn't imagine going back. that 12 months of being president were priceless. they were easily the hardest times in my life. i really have stories to last a lifetime. i wouldn't trade them for anything, i just don't want to do it again. i was just glad that i woke up because i had to use the bathroom. and even more happy that it was just a dream. does anyone else do that or is it just me? are there things you don't want to live over but are glad that you went through them?

princesses need to wear dresses!

Princess Savannnah and Princess Lexi in their Castle.

Meet our newest addition to our backyard....it is a play set. It has been fun for Savannah. She loves being able to go outside and play. Lexi loves it too. Today after the park, Lexi came to play. They both ran out to play and within seconds were back inside. They were both so excited and they were screaming, "We are princesses and we need to wear dresses." We went up stairs and carefully selected a few dresses for them to wear. They were so excited. The put the dresses on and the newly crowned princesses ran out to their castle. On a funny side note, you can see how they have the "drawbridge" up on the bike. Well, that is a no no. So I moved the bike. They both got mad at me but I am the mom and I make the rules. So Savannah, the clever one that she is, decided to but the drawbridge on her head and then Lexi began to walk out on it. Yeah, not one of the better ideas. She was crying out in pain and Lexi is still walking, and I am screaming at both of them. Seriously, where do they come up with these ideas. Here let me put this on my head and you can walk on it. Hello! Silly kids!! I tried explaining what was going on but I don't think that they got it so it will probably happen again tomorrow!

Olivia making Savannah mad by riding her bike.

day at the park

It was so sunny when I woke up this morning I wanted to take advantage of it. It seems like this winter has gone on and on. I am ready for spring. I talked with Kris and Danielle and arranged a lunch in the park. Since Olivia naps during this time, it is always hard for me. Lucky for me I have great sisters. I made sandwiches for the kids lunch. Kris came and got the lunch and Savannah. Kris stopped at Tacos Nacos for the adults. Danielle brought graham crackers and raisins. It was a party!! I arrived after Olivia woke up. It was sunny and windy. It was so great to be outside! It was amazing how much you can miss just being out doors and not freezing!! The kids had a blast and we brought lexi home with us. SO the party continues.....

chair and a half

many of you will recognize this chair. if you have known my family at all or been in my parents house, you know that this chair was once in their house. it started out in park city at their condo. it was picked out by my mom. she would say that it is her chair and that my dad got the recliner. it has an ottoman. it is more than a chair but less than a love seat. it is a chair and a half. well, my parents spruced up their family room and got some new furniture and this chair needed a new home. eric was more than happy to make room for it. i think i figured out why he jumped at the chance. this chair has become eric's go to spot. every night after work he comes home and relaxes on this chair. sometimes we talk, sometimes he thinks with his eyes closed. i really think that eric loves this chair. that is okay. i like it too.

Conference

Well, another session of conference is over. I feel touched and inspired and loved. I loved hearing our prophet talk to us. I loved the stories filled with love and guidance. I was touched by many of the talks. Elder Bednar's talk on meaningful prayer, Elder Ballard's talk on mothers, and there were so many, I am having a hard time recalling them all. I can't wait until the next Ensign comes out and I can absorb all the talks in a more complete manner. At times, I feel it is hard to feel the spirit and learn from conference. With calming kids or keeping them occupied, I often feel like a I miss a lot but this time I missed some but I really felt the spirit of the conference.

Savannah got a lot of new dresses yesterday. Well new to her. They are dresses that were worn by kami and liz. They are so cute! I was loving it all! Savannah has really been into dresses in the last week so this was perfect! Thanks Kris!! Livvy is wearing a top or something from Korea. She felt so special to be wearing it I just had to grab a picture!

Dying Easter Eggs

Savannah and I dyed Easter eggs on Saturday. Growing up we always dyed lots and lots of eggs. It was so much fun. Eric isn't into the commercial side of Easter so I am usually solo on this. We dyed the Eggs while Livvy was sleeping. Savannah really just delegated. She told me whose name to write on the egg and which color to put it in. She was lot and lots of help. The sad part of it was that we didn't have an egg hunt. Savannah was the only kid around. Maybe will with let her have a small one outside one of these days...

St George

We went to St George at the beginning of the month. It was just for 4 days and it was just girls. My mom went with me and girls for a quick getaway. It was a great time. The weather was better than SLC, we didn't do much. Just watched movies and hung out. Olivia loved it. She was into everything. I think I was glad to come home just so I didn't have to keep cleaning up after here. Savannah cried when we left. She was sad to leave. She can't wait until the next st g trip!

just press pause

I have a DVR. I love it. The only problem is that it seems to carry over in to my life. I find myself wanting to press pause so I don't miss things. I want to rewind so I can catch what I miss and fast foward through the boring parts. The other night I was with two friends. I have known them most of my life. One I met in a sixth grade home ec class. We wanted to makeover a girl in our group, trust me she needed it. The other was in my ward when my parents moved from california to utah, we met again at the age of 12 and became friends soon after. They are great friends. Leyla lives in Texas. We see her every few months. Julia just moved back to Utah after living away for 10 or so years. We have the best time when we get together. We always laugh and ending up crying from laughing so hard. Last Thursday was no exception. We were sitting at Julia's house. Her husband just called (he was out of town, which is why we were at her house) to say good night. (it was 11 pm or later.) She was trying to talk to him and leyla and I couldn't stop talking. Julia held up her "remote control" hand and kept saying "pause". Over and over. That made us laugh harder. It was so funny. She was trying to control us like her tivo. It didn't work and she hung up. I wish she could have stopped us. I wish DVR were in real life, maybe one day. Right now I will just enjoy the good times. Thanks guys, for the break in reality. It is always great to be with people who have known you for so long that they actually know you for you and not for being someone's mom, or wife or neighbor. Just you for you. The night ended with me driving Leyla home to her parents. It was kind of funny. After dropping her off, I started driving home. To my parents house. That they lived in when I was in high school. I figured it out in time to make the turn to my house. I guess I just hit auto pilot and was going home to where I used to go after dropping her off. I also forgot to take pictures. Next time......

I passed...

I renewed my temple recommend on Sunday. I had the Bishopric interview at the beginning of February but since Sundays are crazy days for us. I never had the chance to go, Eric did. It is hard with 2 kids and naps and such to figure our scheduling for things like bishop interviews and such. In fact, Eric and I rarely go to these together since they are usually later at night or during nap time. Anyway... my recommend had expired at the end of February. I didn't realize that this was the first time since 8 years ago when I went to the Temple for the first time, I didn't have a current recommend. I was panicked. It was really stressful. As I had the interview with the Stake President, I started to relax, that small dark piece of stress just melted away. I told the Stake President of this, and he smiled. He simply stated the same things that I was feeling. The simple thing of having the temple recommend gives peace and comfort. I don't think that I will ever be without a temple recommend again!! As I was leaving the Stake Offices, I saw a friend of ours and he smiled and asked if I "passed". Yes, I did pass and I was happy to do so! It is a great feeling to have "passed" a temple recommend interview!

All greens match day....

Growing up, one of my sisters had a friend who would wear all the same color but different shades. We would make fun of it as sisters often do. We still do. We will say, " it is all (insert color here) match day." It is our way of being funny. Well, Savannah has taken that to a whole new level. Here she is in green polka dots and flower pants with a little green on them. She let me know that it matches since it has green on it. Yep, all greens match day is alive and well at our house!!

8 years....

Picture goes here. I am still looking for one of us together, i know I have one. And i need a scanner to scan some wedding pics!

It has been eight years since Eric and I got married. I still consider myself one of the lucky ones! I know that I married a great man who has turned into a great father. Sure we have had a few rough patches, who hasn't. I know that I love him and he loves me. We learned more and more about each other all the time. Thanks for 8 great years! Here is to 80 more!! I love you!

Here is a funny song that sums it up!

Grow Old With You
By Adam Sandler

I wanna make you smile
Whenever you're sad
Carry you around
When your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is
Grow old with you.
I'll get you medicine
When your tummy aches
Build you a fire
When the furnace breaks
It could be so nice
Growing old with you.
I'll miss you
I'll kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold
Need you
Feed you
Even let you hold the remote control
Let me do the dishes
In our kitchen sink
Put you to bed
When you've had too much to drink
I could be the manwho grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

***I am posting this late. The day of our anniversary we stayed home to take care of two sick kiddos. It is also really hard to get a babysitter on a Tuesday. My sis, danielle watched the kids on friday night and we went out. We had dinner and then went and picked out our own presents! That is the way to go! Thanks Dani for watching the kids!! We also went out on Saturday night with some friends for the best sushi!! And then we watched Dan In Real Life! That was a great movie!! It was a great year! We figured that if we missed the day to go out that we might as well make the celebrating last and last. It was great to go out 2 weekend nights and party!!
