from start to the end

My mom always took pictures of us on the first day of school. It was at the bus stop or later on when we carpooled, at the front door. This something I started with Savannah. I also took pictures of her with Olivia and I took simillar pictures today. I think it was be fun to see how much she has changed each year from the start of the year to the end of the year.
Olivia kept getting in this picture. She kept saying "cheese!" The picture of just Savannah didn't turn out!

last day of school

Today was Savannah's last day of preschool for the summer. I was excited but also a little sad. She won't have the same teachers next year and I know how much she loves them! Both of the teachers told me how much they are impressed with Savannah and how far she has come in the last year. She started the year out crying and not wanting to be there and now she is happy and loves school. They put together books comparing how they were at the beginning of the year and how far they have come. It is amazing to see how much she learned in the last nine months! She can write her name. She knows all her letters and can count to 29. I was totally crying when i was looking at the book. It was so sweet! I know that she is not yet 4 but she is really growing up!!! She was really funny after I picked her up she kept saying she was going on summer vacation. I don't think she realizes that she isn't going back until the end of august!
Lexi, Savannah and Ellie. (lexi did not want her picture taken. at all!)
Savannah and Miss Darcie
Lexi after school and in a happy mood!
Savannah's Class and Miss Sue. It was just of the girls and more and more kids kept getting in. I figured why not, you never know who those kids will end up being and it is always nice to have a picture of them. (I went to preschool with the owner of the school and we would have loved a picture together now!)

internet down

our internet was down for about 24 hours. seriously, I thought I was going to die. I realized that I could live without most things but I have become dependent on the internet. i love just clicking and checking. I love it. So maybe I need to dial it back a bit but I really don't want to. Eric figured out the problem. Yeah!

a new favorite thing

Olivia has a new favorite thing. She likes to eat it and play with it. Can you guess what it is?

Yep! DIRT! She loves it.I can understand the playing in dirt. That is just a kid thing, but eating it. It drives me crazy. She will eat dirt anywhere. She is not particular and loves all the dirt around. The dirt in Kris's house plants to the sandy dirt in our flower beds. I am not sure if I should be worried. Is she lacking some mineral and is trying to get it in our garden or what? Oh and she likes to suck on rocks. That one is just plain wierd. Here are a few pictures of what she looks like after eating the dirt. As you can see she is just happy as can be to have had a nice snack of soil.

familliar face

I grew up in Draper. We moved there when I was 3 and moved away when I was almost 13. It has a dear spot in my heart. I loved growing up in a small town. It was really small back then. Almost everyone had a least one cousin in their grade. Simillar last names. It goes on. I loved the small town feel. Growing up on a small farm. We had all sorts of animals. Everyone knew everyone or you knew of them. There was one man just like that. He rode his bike everywhere. I think his name was Ray. I can't remember his last name. Well, the reason for the post is that I was driving home from Kris's house on Tuesday. I was about to get to the old railroad tracks by Draper park. I saw a man with a bike who was going to cross the road. This road can get pretty busy at this hour, so I slowed down and let him cross. As he was crossing, I realized that I knew him. It was Ray. He looked the same. Just 20 (plus) years older. His bike was a mountain bike instead of a ten speed and his clothes were newer. He was still wearing his baseball hat. I can't believe I recognized him. It really has been over 20 years since we moved. Has this ever happened to you? You are going along just living your life and a face that you remember pops up? I think it really got me thinking about life and growing up in Draper when it was a small town and how now it is so big and crazy (compared to what it was when we moved there from los angeles.)
