Olivia was there too!

It seems that all the pool side pictures are of savannah and various cousins. (we leave the mommy pictures out!) so today i included olivia. i made her a little bed so she could lay and hopefully fall asleep. she didn't fall asleep but she liked her little area, she even learned how to roll out of it.

savannah had fun swimming with paul. she even jumped in after a bucket and bit her lip. it has a big sore on it now.

savannah on her birthday

This is savannah on her birthday. you can't see it but there is a happy birthday sign above her. i just can't get over how big she is getting. she is really growing up. we play a little game it goes something like this... "mommy" "what" "i love you" "i love you too" we can play this for a while. we go through and even do olivia's fake voice that eric uses to "talk" for babies. it is one of those things that is just precious. i love to her when savannah tells me she loves me!

making jewelery and potty training

i know, i know, those two things don't really go together. since we are potty training we have been staying home a lot! in the kitchen mainly. savannah is doing better and better. eric wants to go back to work, he thought today was too hard. he even volunteered to go to the store so he didnt have to stay home with savannah. that is desperate for eric! since we spend so much time in the kitchen, i brought out my beads and have been making bracelets and earrings. savannah loves this, she was wearing tons of bracelets and being the usual princess. i think all my family member will be getting a pair of earrings because i just keep on making them. so make your requests now! can't wait for her to be totally potty trained. eric asked if we could just go back to diapers. too late!

pink laundry

okay, i was doing laundry the other day and i realized i practically do a whole load of pinks. seriously, that is a lot of pink. i know that with two daughters there is pink but come on. i think we need to branch out a little. the funny thing is that i don't think savannah wears pink all that often. and i hardly ever wear pink since i have that whole red hair looks bad with pink (it used to be red too!!) i remember a friend who has 4 boys once told me that she does a whole load of plaid. i am not sure which is worse!

potty training

well i finally started potty training today. okay, i have started several times but this time i am finishing. today was the day. we stayed home and were on the main floor the entire day. the entire day!! savannah wasn't getting it at first but after she realized she got treats and rewards it all started to click. i have little baskets with little things like play doh and stickers. one of the funniest parts was lexi was over and every time savannah sat on the potty she would get chocolate chips. well, lexi realized this was a great idea and she went potty several times and needed her chocolate chips after she went potty. she was sure that it just wasn't a deal for savannah! all and all it was a good day. i am proud of myself that i stuck to the whole day and that i didn't give up. that is the hardest part, sticking it out. but i know that savannah can do this, i just know she is ready. she just has to get through that stubborn jorgensen attitude!!! and you thought zimmerman's are stubborn!

pioneer day

when i was a kid, this holiday was the best! living in draper this was the holiday with the fireworks and parade (now that is draper days). in primary we would reenact the pioneer walk complete with a stop in winter quarters and council bluffs. we would plant corn for the people who came after us, and wear bonnets, and cruise all over the draper area of our ward that is now large homes. we always ended in an area with water in a wooded area. it was really pretty to reach the "valley". i think it was actually next to hidden valley golf course. one year, i think my mom was working, mindy and i turned on of the radio flyer wagons into a covered wagon and made lots and lots of corn meal muffins and took my sisters on the pioneer walk. (she was 12 and i was soon to be 12) i loved this walk! i wonder if the draper 2nd ward still does this? it was definetly the highlight of the summer.

this year was more of a mellow pioneer day. i played with the girls while eric went and saw harry potter. we finished up the day with a party at a friend's house in bountiful. we had fun playing in the water and watching a firework show. while there we were visited by the fire fighters, fireworks above davis boulevard were illegal and the party was shut down. it was a good time. savannah loved the fireworks!

Go to church

I asked Savannah what she wanted to do today. She turns and runs back to me and says, "I want to go to church!" She said it with a smile and so proud of herself. i thought that was a strange response for a 3 year old. so i said to her, "you want to go to church to play with the toys?" she said, "yes, i want to go to church and play!" i am pretty sure that i will never her this from her when she gets older! She used to hate going to nursery and now it is all we can do to keep her in sacrament meeting before she runs to play!
Just this last week she made it from the last row of the overflow, where we were sitting to the stand (where a ward clerk would sit) just before they said the prayer on the bread. I was embarrassed but she was excited and said in a very loud voice, "I MADE IT!" Eric said no one minded but everyone noticed. That same meeting, our friend Dan was giving a talk and Savannah stood on her chair and yelled, i mean yelled, "HI DAN!!" and started waving like crazy!! Luckily, he didn't notice. Kids are great!

Neighborhood Parade

Savannah's birthday started out with a siren! Well from the neighborhood parade that is. Our ward does a neighborhood parade the saturday before the 24th every year. We missed it the first year it started since that is the day that we brought savannah home from the hospital. every year we watch it, a couple of years it has come right in front of our house. this was one of those years. sandy's chief of police lives in our neighborhood and he starts the parade by driving his car with the light going. the primary kids follow on decorated bikes and a ward band finish up the parade. savannah loved that it was her birthday and there was a parade just for her. i figured we would watch the parade this year since we might have to be in it next year! the parade finishes up with a breakfast out in the street for the whole neighborhood. the breakfast was great! eric helped with cooking and serving. i had cut of the fruit (my contribution for being on the activities committee. it was hot and fun!!!

happy birthday to my princess

Well, three years has passed since dr. hinson came into the room and said it was time for a c section. I can just remember saying to the doctor, "can i call my mom?" We have had a fun journey, together me and you.

We survived your dad working long hours and weekends. we made it through your crankiness that was caused by reflux.

you are one of my joys and delights. i love how we play the "i love you game" all you have to do is say one of your cute little things and i melt. i love you and am so lucky to have you in my life.

thanks for being my princess savannah!! i love you!

Cupcakes

savannah helped me make the cupcakes for her birthday. she licked the beaters, ate frosting and POURED the color sugar on the cupcakes. she had a lot of fun.

Chuck E. Cheese

I just love Chuck E Cheese. It is my favorite! i am kind of serious and kind of sarcastic. We went to have a party time for Savannah's 3rd birthday and saying good bye to jamison and gavin! it was also a way to escape the heat! we arrived at 11 am before the crowds and had a great time for 2 hours. savannah loved every minute of it. she would run and grab a coin and go use it somewhere and then come back for another coin. it was funny. all the cousins had a blast! i remember going when savannah was about 18 months old and was a tad bit overwhelmed but now i think i can handle it. although, the scary part was the dude at the door who looked like he was high or drunk or something.

Long Day

Yesterday was a long, long day! Olivia woke me up at 6:30 am. I fed her put her back to bed. I crawled back in bed for 20 minutes and Savannah woke up at 7:30 am. She was in a good mood for about 10 minutes, then it all fell apart. We partied at Chuck E Cheese's, part for Savannah's birthday, part for Jamison returning to Virginia on Monday. We went to the grocery store right after. Then Savannah and Olivia had naps. During the time I made cupcakes for Savannah's birthday. Then I got ready for dinner with my family (adult style) and the babysitter came over. Savannah freaked out. Then we had dinner at Franck's. To read more on that go http://claytoncrew.blogspot.com , Danielle summed it up pretty much. Then we came home and I fed Olivia and put her to bed. Then I cut up five big white tupperware bowls of fruit for the ward breakfast this morning. I am on the activities committee and my only job is to cut fruit. (The Leader told me to stay home and watch my kids so the my husband could come and help. Not sure if I should think that is wierd or not) Then at 12 something, Jacque came over and we went to Walmart to buy the new harry potter. It is a surprise for Eric. Shh don't tell! There are a lot of wierdos out there and I think most of them were at walmart. I came home finish the fruit. At 1:30 am I was finally able to go to bed. Savannah woke up at 3:30 screaming for us. I tell you it was a crazy 24 hours!!! I will be glad when today is over!!!

Benny!

Well, It was another hard day at the pool! This time Olivia slept a long time and I was able to enjoy myself.

Savannah had a lot of fun! I think the person who has the most fun where ever he goes is BENNY!! He always has a smile on his face. He loves to say Nanny when talking to me or Savannah. These are great pictures of him wearing goggles. He put on Danielle's blue pair first and went to everyone to show them. He had the biggest smile on his face. He then put on the green pair and smiled big for the camera! Thanks Ben for making my day with your smiles!!

One of Those Days!

I just read my sister, Danielle's blog. She had a hard day! I totally know how that is. I went to the grocery store this afternoon. First mistake. But that part was the easy part. I had to take some vanilla wafers to Kris since she was making banana pudding. So I start heading to Kris's house. Well, Olivia falls asleep on the way. Good! Then Savannah falls asleep. Great! Things are going great. I realize I should probably get gas. So I head to the Holiday Oil to fill up. Well, just my luck, all the pumps are busy. Since its happy hour at Sonic I head over to get a drink. Well, 20 minutes later.... (Apparently, they were so busy that they forgot that I had ordered and that the people behind me got there food before I got my drink!) ... Olivia has now woken up. I was going to get gas but I could tell she wasn't going to last much longer and we still had to go to Kris's house. So, we get to Kris's and drop the wafers off and then I try to get home without breaking every speed limit between our houses. No such luck, Olivia is crying so hard that she wakes Savannah up. How quickly my afternoon of sleeping kids disappeared. Olivia didn't go back to sleep and either did Savannah. It was a long afternoon until Eric got home at 7 pm. All that being said, I think I have it easy. I have a husband that loves me and two great kids, even though they didn't sleep!

I'm sorry finger!

Savannah is starting to potty train, really a whole other post. Anyway, she was getting on the potty and she pinched her finger on the way to sitting on the little potty seat. She made a sad face and looked at her finger and then looked at me. She stuck her finger out, and I thought she wanted me to kiss it but she kissed her finger instead. She looked at her little finger and said "I'm sorry finger." She also did the sign language sign for sorry. It was the cutest thing. She really didn't need me at all.

Happy Birthday Leyla!!

Well, another year has come and gone! You now live in Texas, I am just waiting for the big hair to arrive! We have had so much fun together! Thank you for getting back in touch with me last year. And organizing our little get togethers when you come into town. We have had some really good times and some really wierd times. From Wendover to Frankfurt to the gas station bathroom in Moab. We have a lot of memories. I remember when I met you in 6th grade, we wanted to do a makeover on the girl in our cooking group. She really needed it. Then as sophomores when we caused some trouble in my neighborhood.... we don't need to go into that! (My parents still don't know it was me!) And we can't for get Chocolate Thunder. Then in college when I lived at the Tri Delt house and still called you every morning to see what you were doing. Or when I called you at work and asked for the Rush Department. Then Germany. Oh, the good times and the wierd times. Being stuck at the Newark Airport for four days. Thank You Faisal for our late check out times. Why we didn't head into New York and make the best of it, I have no idea!! Being stuck in Houston, My little breakdown. I was getting out of there at any cost! Thank you Leyla for being my friend through all of it. You are an amazing woman and I am happy to call you my friend!!

I didn't have a picture of you by yourself so here you are with Julia. I would have scanned a few pictures of us in our younger days but well I don't have a scanner and that is just way to confusing for me!!

One Year Ago...

Last year, John and Michelle planned a trip for a HUGE group of friends. So many people and kids! It was fun for the most part. I knew I was pregnant with Olivia but we hadn't told anyone. Eric's brother Steve and his friend Adam were staying with us in a trailer. Such a memorable trip! Kate suggested we do it again this year. Michelle and I both told her that we would rather rent condos instead of camp with little kids!! Savannah was so funny! She would only wear one swimsuit and her red crocs. Oh, she has a strong personality!! Notice how she is walking away from the water and how Eric is reading!

New Baby?

Savannah's bear needs a ride!

Savannah Swims

Well, Savannah finished her last day of swimming lessons! She can swim on her own for the most part. I am a little cautious and prefer to be in the pool with her. She still will wear floaties if I am just at the side of the pool! Kelsey (Danielle's sister-in-law) was her teacher. Savannah struggled the second day (she cried a lot!) but for the most part she loved it! She even started to love Kelsey like the great aunt that she is. She loves to jump in for the rings and wouldn't finish the lesson until she had jumped in the right amount of times. She can float on her back, swim most of the way across the width of the pool and has started learning the back stroke. She struggles with the "big arms". For being 2 years and 51 weeks, I think she has done one incredible job! We are so proud of her!

Rolling and Rolling

We reached the end of just putting Olivia in one place and her staying there. She can now roll over all the way. She has been rolling over from her back to her front for over two weeks now.I will miss the days of a non mobile child but look forward to her growing and progressing. This also means I need to keep the floor cleaner!! Olivia is 4 1/2 months old. She beat Savannah who didn't roll over until she was exactly 5 months old.

Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur Museum

It seems like every time Nicole or Danielle would come into town we make the trek (only 10 minutes, really) to Thanksgiving Point. We either see the Dinosaurs or the Petting Zoo. It a fun time! Olivia slept the whole time and all the kids were really good. We even took a picture of the entire group by the shark. I think we do this everytime. This time was memorable since Grandma told Paul she was going to throw him into the sharks mouth and he screamed. It was funny! We finished the day by getting lunch at Wendy's, to make it a great dinosaur day, the prize in the Kid's Meal was an audiobook about dinosaurs! It was a fun time and we are lucky to have a mom who is willing to take us and our kids on outings like this! Thanks Mom!!

I finally did it!!

I finally joined the world of blogging. After Danielle did it, Nicole did it and then I talked to Leyla and well she can do it, I figured I had better give it a shot. I love the idea of it!! I was just scared that I didn't had the tech skills to pull it off! Ask anyone, I am completely not tech savvy!! Thanks to all who gave me the urge to do it and join this fun new world!!
