new dresses

Savannah got a lot of new dresses yesterday. Well new to her. They are dresses that were worn by kami and liz. They are so cute! I was loving it all! Savannah has really been into dresses in the last week so this was perfect! Thanks Kris!! Livvy is wearing a top or something from Korea. She felt so special to be wearing it I just had to grab a picture!

Dying Easter Eggs

Savannah and I dyed Easter eggs on Saturday. Growing up we always dyed lots and lots of eggs. It was so much fun. Eric isn't into the commercial side of Easter so I am usually solo on this. We dyed the Eggs while Livvy was sleeping. Savannah really just delegated. She told me whose name to write on the egg and which color to put it in. She was lot and lots of help. The sad part of it was that we didn't have an egg hunt. Savannah was the only kid around. Maybe will with let her have a small one outside one of these days...

St George

We went to St George at the beginning of the month. It was just for 4 days and it was just girls. My mom went with me and girls for a quick getaway. It was a great time. The weather was better than SLC, we didn't do much. Just watched movies and hung out. Olivia loved it. She was into everything. I think I was glad to come home just so I didn't have to keep cleaning up after here. Savannah cried when we left. She was sad to leave. She can't wait until the next st g trip!

just press pause

I have a DVR. I love it. The only problem is that it seems to carry over in to my life. I find myself wanting to press pause so I don't miss things. I want to rewind so I can catch what I miss and fast foward through the boring parts. The other night I was with two friends. I have known them most of my life. One I met in a sixth grade home ec class. We wanted to makeover a girl in our group, trust me she needed it. The other was in my ward when my parents moved from california to utah, we met again at the age of 12 and became friends soon after. They are great friends. Leyla lives in Texas. We see her every few months. Julia just moved back to Utah after living away for 10 or so years. We have the best time when we get together. We always laugh and ending up crying from laughing so hard. Last Thursday was no exception. We were sitting at Julia's house. Her husband just called (he was out of town, which is why we were at her house) to say good night. (it was 11 pm or later.) She was trying to talk to him and leyla and I couldn't stop talking. Julia held up her "remote control" hand and kept saying "pause". Over and over. That made us laugh harder. It was so funny. She was trying to control us like her tivo. It didn't work and she hung up. I wish she could have stopped us. I wish DVR were in real life, maybe one day. Right now I will just enjoy the good times. Thanks guys, for the break in reality. It is always great to be with people who have known you for so long that they actually know you for you and not for being someone's mom, or wife or neighbor. Just you for you. The night ended with me driving Leyla home to her parents. It was kind of funny. After dropping her off, I started driving home. To my parents house. That they lived in when I was in high school. I figured it out in time to make the turn to my house. I guess I just hit auto pilot and was going home to where I used to go after dropping her off. I also forgot to take pictures. Next time......

I passed...

I renewed my temple recommend on Sunday. I had the Bishopric interview at the beginning of February but since Sundays are crazy days for us. I never had the chance to go, Eric did. It is hard with 2 kids and naps and such to figure our scheduling for things like bishop interviews and such. In fact, Eric and I rarely go to these together since they are usually later at night or during nap time. Anyway... my recommend had expired at the end of February. I didn't realize that this was the first time since 8 years ago when I went to the Temple for the first time, I didn't have a current recommend. I was panicked. It was really stressful. As I had the interview with the Stake President, I started to relax, that small dark piece of stress just melted away. I told the Stake President of this, and he smiled. He simply stated the same things that I was feeling. The simple thing of having the temple recommend gives peace and comfort. I don't think that I will ever be without a temple recommend again!! As I was leaving the Stake Offices, I saw a friend of ours and he smiled and asked if I "passed". Yes, I did pass and I was happy to do so! It is a great feeling to have "passed" a temple recommend interview!

All greens match day....

Growing up, one of my sisters had a friend who would wear all the same color but different shades. We would make fun of it as sisters often do. We still do. We will say, " it is all (insert color here) match day." It is our way of being funny. Well, Savannah has taken that to a whole new level. Here she is in green polka dots and flower pants with a little green on them. She let me know that it matches since it has green on it. Yep, all greens match day is alive and well at our house!!

8 years....

Picture goes here. I am still looking for one of us together, i know I have one. And i need a scanner to scan some wedding pics!

It has been eight years since Eric and I got married. I still consider myself one of the lucky ones! I know that I married a great man who has turned into a great father. Sure we have had a few rough patches, who hasn't. I know that I love him and he loves me. We learned more and more about each other all the time. Thanks for 8 great years! Here is to 80 more!! I love you!

Here is a funny song that sums it up!

Grow Old With You
By Adam Sandler

I wanna make you smile
Whenever you're sad
Carry you around
When your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is
Grow old with you.
I'll get you medicine
When your tummy aches
Build you a fire
When the furnace breaks
It could be so nice
Growing old with you.
I'll miss you
I'll kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold
Need you
Feed you
Even let you hold the remote control
Let me do the dishes
In our kitchen sink
Put you to bed
When you've had too much to drink
I could be the manwho grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

***I am posting this late. The day of our anniversary we stayed home to take care of two sick kiddos. It is also really hard to get a babysitter on a Tuesday. My sis, danielle watched the kids on friday night and we went out. We had dinner and then went and picked out our own presents! That is the way to go! Thanks Dani for watching the kids!! We also went out on Saturday night with some friends for the best sushi!! And then we watched Dan In Real Life! That was a great movie!! It was a great year! We figured that if we missed the day to go out that we might as well make the celebrating last and last. It was great to go out 2 weekend nights and party!!

funny quotes

these are a few of the funny things that I heard yesterday.

Savannah in response to Kris asking if she wants me to make her a hot dog. "You can't make a hot dog it is already a hot dog."

Lexi after I told her I couldn't do everything at once. (I was driving and she dropped something and wanted it picked up.) "If you were an octopus you could do everything because you would have a lot of feet."

There was another one. I will add it later when I remember it.

Laundry

The other day I was doing laundry and I realized how funny it can all be. Sorting and all the funny piles. And I could be a little wierd. I sort all the clothes into piles and do the hardest loads first. Then I finish up with the "easy loads". For me the hardest loads are the ones I have to pre-treat for stains and then hang to dry. The easy loads are the one I just stick in the dryer. I wasn't sure if I do it like other or what. Here is a list of my loads:
  • whites to be dried
  • whites not to be dried
  • pinks and simillar colors
  • brights
  • tans (this has increased since Bedrock when business casual)
  • jeans
  • blacks
  • towels light colored
  • towels dark colored

I realize that this can be time consuming but as a laundry freak like myself it is necessary. Oh and if I want to "mix" the loads I just throw in a Shout Color Catcher. It traps all the loose colors. By far the best invention in the last few years!!! Am I normal or is everyone this way??
